
Vivien Harmon
Portrayed by Connie Britton. Married to Ben Harmon and mother to Violet and the Antichrist twins. Had a miscarriage between Violet and the twins. Discovered her husband Ben cheating on her with his student shortly after this. She used to be a cellist but decided to quit and be a stay-at-home mom. She dies due to hemorrhage, giving birth to the twins at the end of the season. She now haunts the house.

Ben Harmon
Portrayed by Dylan McDermott. Husband to Vivien and father of Violet. Cheated on Vivien with his student, getting her pregnant. He is a psychiatrist and works out of his home. Dies at the end by hanging and is now a ghost haunting the house.

Violet Harmon
Portrayed by Taissa Farmiga. A 15-year-old teenager, daughter of Ben and Vivien. Smokes cigarettes, has severe depression, and self-harms. She is bullied in school for being the new girl/outcast. The girlfriend of Tate. Passes away due to suicide by overdosing on sleeping pills. She is eternally stuck in the house as a ghost with the rest of her family, Tate, and the other people who died in the house previously.

Tate Langdon
Portrayed by Evan Peters. A 17-year-old teenager who previously attended Westfield High. Very mentally disturbed and is a psychopath. Committed a mass shooting at his high school and was then killed by the police in his home. He is now a ghost and Violet’s boyfriend.

Constance Langdon
Portrayed by Jessica Lange. A previous owner of the Murder House. The mother of Tate and his three siblings (Adelaide, Beauregard, and Rose). She killed her husband with a gunshot to the head because she caught him cheating on her with their maid (he actually raped the maid). She killed the maid, Moira, with a gunshot to the head as well. Knows the secrets of the Harmons’ house. Wanted to stay near her previous house because two of her children died in the house and their spirits are trapped there.

Larry Harvey
Portrayed by Denis O’Hare. A previous owner of the Murder House. In love with Constance. Killed his wife and two daughters by setting his house on fire. He has burns on 70% of his body from the fire. He claims that he was sent to prison afterward and released due to having terminal brain cancer, however, it is suggested that he went to a mental institution rather than a prison.
